Daily Throwback: Missy Elliot ft. Eve - 4 My People
Today, the Shuffle God gives us an artist that has been missing for a while. Actually, Missy's music has always been ahead of its time, so 'missing" might be a bad choice of words. Let's just say she's giving everyone else a chance to catch up.
This song right here reminds me of some blurry, yet fun times in my life. It also goes to show how far ahead she was. It seems like every hip hop artist is trying to infuse some aspect of electronic dance music in their joints nowadays, and Miss E was doing it back in '01. Eve's on the track too, we can use the "missing" word for her. You're welcome.

Happy Birthday O'Shea Jackson
I know by the name, one might envision a leprechaun of African-American descent, but this actually the government name of one of the greatest rappers of the "gangsta" era. Ladies and gentlemen, lets give a warm happy birthday to Mr. Imakedoughbutdon'tcallmeDoughBoy...ICE CUBE!
Yes, the former N-word with an attitude and a creative mind behind one of the best comedic films of the past 20 years (I'm talking about Friday) turns 44 today. 22 years ago he was rocking a jheri curl, I miss the jheri curl.
Right now, Mr. Cube can be seen on television imposing his "gangsta" on cans of Coors Lite. He's also on the national Kings of the Mic tour this summer (when I say national, I mean anywhere but the Chicago-land area) along with fellow hip-hop legends LL Cool J, Public Enemy, and De La Soul. Here's a medley of my favorite Don Mega jams that help me forgive him for the whole Are We There Yet? debacle. You're welcome.

Hawks Line-Up
No, I'm not talking about Hossa and the crew. I'm talking about getting the Hawks' feathers lined up in your hair.
My friend and barber, Josh Burrell, works out of Lee's Barber Shop in Naperville, and specializes cutting graphic designs in your hair-do. Right now, everyone is going Blackhawks crazy, so getting some aspect of the hockey team's logo shaved in your head is the latest craze. Since my man Josh is so dope with the blade, FOX 32 Chicago News featured him this morning on their show.

Happy Birthday Prince Rogers Nelson
Wow, its hard to believe this man is 55 years old today. Most rock icons age horribly (have you seen Keith Richards lately?), and this man still looks like he's in his twenties. This man has been with some of the baddest women of all-time, mad some of the greatest music of all-time, and was the focal point of one of the funniest sketch comedy bits of all-time.
So, what do you get the man that has everything? A blog post, obviously. Happy birthday, Prince, you are truly an all-time top ten musician, at least in my book (if that means anything), and that list includes Mozart and Beethoven. Hopefully you're kicking it with Morris Day and Jerome today, I miss those guys. You're welcome.

Daily Throwback: X-Clan - To The East Blackwards
Good morning everyone. Finally the Shuffle God had returned to bless us all with a Daily Throwback. It hasn't been so daily lately, but today SG hits us with a classic jam that evokes memories of watching In Living Color. DJ SW-1 spinning this X-Clan classic on the 1s and 2s, while The Fly Girlz (ahh, The Fly Girlz) bust it out on the stage. Quality television. You're welcome.

Draft Day Regrets
Good morning, here's a nice read I picked up via Bleacher Report. It is a nice slide show article about NBA draft day trades that ended horrible for one team. It was well written, witty, and might I say, the actual columnist is quite handsome (no homo). Enjoy the read. You're welcome.

Jay-Z/Timbaland/Timbalake/Nas Collabo Coming Soon???
The above picture was tweeted out yesterday. Just the picture alone puts high expectations on whatever project these four are working on. They could be doing a 1000 piece puzzle in that room for all we know. Imaginations...start your engines. You're welcome.

May Misses
Sorry about my tardiness. I find it difficult to blog when my 9 year old is on summer vacation and hogs the damn computer. Its amazing how much computer time a chocolate shake from McDonald's can buy you.
Even though I received no funds from the fast food conglomerate, this blog post is literally brought to you by McDonald's. Enjoy the McList.
