New Music: Rapper Big Pooh – Don’t Change
I had to post something good to get that hot garbage taste of R.Kelly's latest effort out of mouth. I love anything from any of the Little Brother alumni. You're welcome...for real this time.

New Music: R. Kelly ft. 2 Chainz - My Story
Remember when R.Kelly would drop a song and change the current face of R&B? Yeah, he doesn't do that anymore. Instead he drops garbage like this, pandering to an audience who never heard the original 12 Play or knew about his days with the Public Announcement.
The only reason I posted this is because no matter what, the man is still a legend in Chicago. That shit will change soon if Kellz keeps pumping out trash like this. 2 Chainz, Robert, really? You just look and sound desperate now. C'mon, son! You're welcome...not really, I should apologize for posting this.

Trailer: Jay Z - "Picasso Baby-A Performance Art Film" (HBO Special)
Hov continues to expand his commercial appeal. He might be getting more popular than his wife, if that's even possible. I'm just glad I was down from the beginning with Hawaiian Sophie and Show & Prove. Tune in on Friday August 2nd @ 11 PM EST to HBO to see Jigga's latest project. You're welcome.

Daily Throwback: Musiq Soulchild - Just Friends (Sunny)
Today, the Shuffle God asks us "what ever happened to the Neo Soul movement?" Musiq was one of the purveyors of this movement, and this song introduced his style to the world. This was THE joint for a long time. Musiq is still making music, but nothing like this, but then again, who is nowadays? Ah, the lost art of soul and R&B. You're welcome.

Daily Throwback: Kanye West ft. GLC & Consequence - Spaceship
The Shuffle God feels my sorrow for having to work this gloomy Saturday morning, and hits us with a pre-Kardashian jam from Kanye. Spaceship beautifully describes one's thought process of grinding everyday at a 9 to 5 gig, and having bigger ambitions. I am definitely still waiting for my spaceship. You're welcome.

Trailer: Fruitvale Station
Sadly enough, this film begins its promo tour on the heels of the highly contested Zimmerman/Martin verdict. Not to drudge up negative energy, but Fruitvale Station looks powerful, and the teaser already has me thinking Academy Award. It would be fitting that film about the tragic Oscar Grant incident wins an Oscar. You're welcome.
Trailer: VH1's "CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story"
I don't know about you, but I'm a sucker for biopics, especially ones about musicians. I've been excited about this one since I heard it was in pre-production. The trailer looks pretty legit, and those outfits brought back mad memories. Take a peek. You're welcome.
New Music: Terrace Martin ft. Robert Glasper & James Fauntleroy – No Wrong, No Right
Uh oh, two days in row. This dude might actually be serious about returning to form. Maybe so, but who in their right mind could pass up on posting beautiful music like what I have presented to you today. This collabo from West Coast veteran Terrace Martin (yes, there's no "n"), James Fauntleroy from Cocaine 80s, and pianist extraordinaire Robert Glasper, is a beautiful way to start the upcoming weeks of summer's conclusion. This song is so silky smooth and relaxing, you wouldn't think it was about the carousel of confusion that sometimes accompanies the amusement park of love. Grab a nice beverage, sit back, and enjoy the sounds of Mr. Martin and his talented friends. You're welcome.

Daily Throwback: The High & Mighty ft. Mos Def & Skillz - B-Boy Document '99
The Shuffle God has returned! Taking us back to 1999, the ass end of hip-hop's golden era. The Soundbombing series from Rawkus Records introduced the world to Mos Def, Talib Kweli, the Beat Junkies, etc. Soundbombing II was my summer soundtrack that year, and this cut hit clean-up. You're welcome.

You can include George Lucas and Shanice on that list too. Happy birthday, Olivia.
The Pledge
Hello everybody. I know, it's been a while since I last posted. The time between posts wasn't caused by writer's block or anything like that, I just let shit get to me. Today, I'm here to say...never again!
Right now, I make this promise to the entire Conscious Residue audience (yes, all eight of you), I will never go that long between posts again. What kind of blogger deprives the world of the fruits of their gift because of a missed opportunity? Not a good one, and in case you forgot, I'm good...damn good!
Here's my first disclaimer, I won't be able to hit you with 3-4 posts a day like I did when I was slangin' food, but let me reassure you that you will get a full dosage of Conscious Residue nonetheless. From the Daily Throwback to Week Sauce, all your favorite serials will be back, and hell maybe a few new ones.
Well, there you have it, I'm back, bitches! I'll let you decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing. It's been a minute, so hold up...let me clear my throat...here it comes...you're welcome.
