The old cliche goes the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. The Chicago Bulls are in a state of insanity. I hear constantly from Bulls' fans that Derrick Rose needs help but when they can get him help by losing to be major players in the draft, those fans are against it.
Fans want them to make the playoffs, basically just to say they made it. Making the playoffs then getting bounced out gets you nothing. Where did it get the Bulls last year? It got Chicago all excited because they made it out the first round then won game 1 against the Miami Heat but then got swept after that. If you're a true fan of the Bulls, you should want the Bulls to miss the playoffs to give Derrick Rose a phenom rookie sensation. How do you think we got Derrick Rose in the first place? We missed the playoffs, that's how.
I understand there are people who think we can win with this core but all I can go by is what my eyes show me. We couldn't even make it to the Finals when we had the best team record wise, the best player according to the MVP award, the best coach according to the Coach Of The Year award and the best defense and best bench according to statistics. We had all of that in 2011. We should took out Miami that year but we just beat up on them and let Dallas finish them off en route to the NBA championship.
I try not to live in the past but our current team is NOWHERE NEAR that team. I keep hearing that if we amnesty Carlos Boozer then that solves everything. My answer to that is amnesty Boozer and get who??? The best free agent this summer besides Lebron James is Carmelo Anthony. I think Carmelo and D. Rose could be Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant like.
A lot of fans here in Chicago don't want Melo though. So from my understanding a majority of fans
don't want the second best free agent this summer and don't want a top rookie in a draft that's projected to be the best in a decade. I, on the other hand, think realistically. I say just see if you can trade Boozer to get worse and trade Luol Deng since he is a back to back all-star who is on an expiring contract and get some future draft picks and/or a player(s) that can help our future.
I also think we should save our amnesty for D. Rose if need be. No one knows what's gonna happen with his legs going forward. If he comes back and goes down again, then what? Why should we amnesty Boozer? If D. Rose becomes an injury prone problem, the Bulls are screwed.
I love this team to much to see them put in the same boat as the New York Knicks. The Knicks used their amnesty clause early and their power forward Amare Stoudemire became a major liability because of bad knees. His contract is so enormous, it has handicapped a lot of moves the Knicks could have made. If the Bulls play this right, they could position themselves with a top 5 pick in this upcoming loaded draft. They also have the rights to a player, who a lot of scouts say is the best player overseas right now. On top of that, they have what could be a great draft pick in 2016 from the Charlotte Bobcats. The future is bright as long as they don't screw it up by trying to win now and make the playoffs for nothing. Their owner is money hungry, so I know he wants to make that Bulls' playoff money. We probably will go forward with this core which will be the definition of insanity.
Now I wanna quickly talk about Sunday's WWE pay-per-view TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs. Unlike years past, only one match had tables, ladders & chairs. It was a waste of a PPV concept when the theme only applies to one match. They ended the year with a bad PPV when they started the year with what I thought was the best thing they did all year: bringing The Rock back and having him win the championship.
The Rock is my all-time favorite wrestler, so I was all for this happening. A lot of wrestling fans don't like the fact that he comes back to wrestling for a little while then leaves to make movies. I don't like it either, but I can't deny how much better I believe the WWE is when he returns.
Besides The Rock winning the gold, this year also gave me the best NBA Finals I ever saw. The San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat put on a show for the ages. I still have no nails because of all the drama. It was everything I loved about the NBA summed up in a 7-game series. I felt more appreciative for that than my hometown Chicago Blackhawks winning the Stanley Cup.
This year also gave me 3 great albums from Drake, Game and J. Cole. The J. Cole and Game albums (Born Sinner and O.K.E. respectively) were the best I've heard from both thus far in their careers and the Drake album (Nothing Was The Same) was the best album I heard all year.
I would say the best mixtape I heard this year was from Lil Wayne via his Dedication 5 album. He once again showed these ringtone rappers what their singles should of sounded like or at least that he should of been featured on them. And that about wraps up my last post of 2013. I wanna thank any and everybody who has ever read one of my posts. I plan to only get better...and more random. Okay, I've digressed enough for a year.
