Ice Cube ft. Redfoo & 2 Chainz - Drop Girl (Remix)

Umm, normally I don't post songs like this, but Ice Cube on an EDM track is not something you see everyday. I don't apologize. You're welcome.

2014 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame: LL Cool J vs. N.W.A

I haven't posted in a while, so here you go. I feel a little rusty, so if it reads a little forced, fuck off and keep your opinion to yourself. Keep in mind that I am an artist, and I'm sensitive about my shit (Badu voice). Let's get to it, shall we.

A tell-tale sign that you are getting old is when you recognize the names of majority of the nominees for the 2014 class of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. This year I have actually heard music from 11 out of the 16 nominees...damn I'm old.

Not all of the acts will make the cut. Nirvana, Deep Purple, and Kiss are clear cut favorites to make it into the 2014 class. With the committee inducting a hip-hop/rap act in each of the past two years (Public Enemy in 2013, and the Beastie Boys in 2012), I'm guess that trend will continue for the 2014 inductees.

What that means is that one spot will belong to either LL Cool J or N.W.A. On paper, that sounds like an epic battle, but in actuality, I believe there is no question who truly deserves the honor. The world's premier lip-licker, James Todd Smith a.k.a. Ladies Love Cool James, is hands down better than N.W.A.

Happy Birthday O'Shea Jackson

I know by the name, one might envision a leprechaun of African-American descent, but this actually the government name of one of the greatest rappers of the "gangsta" era. Ladies and gentlemen, lets give a warm happy birthday to Mr. Imakedoughbutdon'tcallmeDoughBoy...ICE CUBE!

Yes, the former N-word with an attitude and a creative mind behind one of the best comedic films of the past 20 years (I'm talking about Friday) turns 44 today. 22 years ago he was rocking a jheri curl, I miss the jheri curl.

Right now, Mr. Cube can be seen on television imposing his "gangsta" on cans of Coors Lite.  He's also on the national Kings of the Mic tour this summer (when I say national, I mean anywhere but the Chicago-land area) along with fellow hip-hop legends LL Cool J, Public Enemy, and De La Soul.  Here's a medley of my favorite Don Mega jams that help me forgive him for the whole Are We There Yet? debacle.  You're welcome.

Kings of the Mic Tour

This tour kicks off on May 23rd in Tucson, AZ (Chuck and the crew better break into By The Time I Get to Arizona!). Nice way to start the summer, but sadly the Windy City does not have a tour date.  Stuff like this never hits Chicago for some reason.  Like we're not the 3rd largest metropolitan area in the country.  I guess if you want to see legendary acts like LL Cool J, Public Enemy, Ice Cube, and De La Soul, you'll have to go somewhere else, like Simpsonville, South Carolina.  Simpsonville, South Carolina?  Really? Rahm is messin' up!
