NFL Week 1 Recap: 5 On It

Oh football, how I missed you so much! Week 1 of the 2014 NFL season is in the books. Here are QuickBlurb's 5 takeaways from a glorious Thursday, Sunday, and Monday...featuring very little Ray Rice.

Antonio Brown Punts a Punter:
Unlike Ray Rice's recent low lights, this replay just gets better each time I see it. There was nothing the Browns' punter, Spencer Lanning, could do but take it. Bonus points for giving zero fucks for human life and still running in stride.

Jay Cutler vs Chris Conte:
I don't know who draws more ire from Bears' fans after a loss. Was it Cutler's 2 INTs or Conte's memory lapse of basic tackling fundamentals that cost Chicago a home game to the Buffalo Bills? Cutler has a few laps on Conte in this category, but the lack-luster free safety is quickly catching up in Blame Game 500. Stay tuned.

Broncos & Seahawks Gearing Up For a Super Bowl Rematch:
Both these teams looked like they haven't missed a step from last season in their 2014 debuts. I know it's very early, but it's hard to bet against either of these teams not being in Arizona in February vying for another Lombardi trophy.

Tony Romo:
I started him over Matt Ryan in fantasy football last week. I will now laugh at my monumental stupidity. Bwaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahahhahahahaahah!!!

Double Monday Night Games:
I'm not a big fan of two games on the first airing of Monday Night Football. Once starts too early, and the other starts too late. Too tempting to switch to Monday Night Raw or Franklin & Bash, especially when all 4 teams involved are just "meh" to me. On the bright side, plenty of Eli-faces. Back to one game next week, so all should be right in the world.

That's it for this week. I'm looking forward to an even better weekend of football next week. Remember everyone, if you see Ray Rice or Solange Knowles on an elevator, please take the stairs. You're welcome.
