May Misses

I'm back! I know, it's been a minute and I know it's a little late for a recap of music from May, and all I can say to that is S.A.D.U. (shout out to Jodi Dion). I decided to go with a new format this time and present the songs in a playlist. I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier, seeing that embedding 10 individual songs is kind of a pain in the ass.

February Misses

Welcome to March. It's still cold and snowing, so ain't nothin' new other than this music that I'm about to hit you with. February started off slow. The first few weeks of the month, finding 10 songs that were good enough to post about seemed like a challenge, but around the mid-way point, the ball started rolling and the jams started to be unleashed.

I don't know if it was because of Valentine's Day, but February released a lot of good R&B. This list is very R&B heavy, and that's with me leaving off solid tracks from Alicia Keys and Marsha Ambrosius. The February Misses are also somewhat nostalgic, with homage being paid to Michael Jackson, Anita Baker, The Fugees and Shalamar. Enough talky-talky, go ahead an check out what you missed. Tough Love: 10 Anti-Valentine's Day Tracks

No, I'm not feeling "some type of way," its just last year I assumed that all of my audience was in a happy love bubble when I hit you with Roofie Rhymes (looking back, that's a corny ass name...ah well, you live and you learn). I now understand that most of my audience is miserable, so it's only fair that I hit you with some break-up/hate jams. Get your Kleenex and alibis ready, its about to get shitty. You're welcome.

JP's Top 20 Songs of 2013

2013 is coming to a close, so what better time to force my opinions upon the masses. I mean, c'mon, who doesn't love a year end list? I don't know about you, but I'm a sucker for them. Since I have access to Wi-Fi, a laptop, and a barely read blog, I thought why not make my own.

My goal is to hit you guys with at least ONE different list a week, along with whatever the other dead beats that sometimes write for the blog decide to contribute. Between the new puppy and the craziness of the holidays, we'll see how that goes.

The first list is my top 20 songs of 2013.  You might recognize some of these from being featured in some way on the blog, others are new to the audience. Either way, you're welcome.

March Misses

Time to see what music was good, but not good enough to get it's own post.  A few odd ones this month.  Much to the dismay of Rush Limbaugh, Beyonce made the list, and Lil' Wayne almost made this list, but I chose another annoying P.O.S. (Chris Brown) to take his place.  I'm as shocked as you that these two shitsippers actually produced some good songs last month.  Enough about the mentally handicapped, let get to what I missed.

February Misses

Okay, I admit it, I miss a few things here and there.  Are you happy?  Do you know how hard it is to post consistently on a blog and still be a husband, father, and stay employed?  Well at least the first two parts.

A lot of good music came out last month that I didn't get a chance to post about because, well, even better music came out.  These songs are proof that there is still thought being put into music, and I still thought they deserved some attention, so here are my top ten misses from February.  You're welcome.
