Live From The Tent: My Lollapalooza 2013 Wrap-Up

So, I did some pretty cool shit this weekend and helped film tape video (my old television production professor would kill me if she read that, sorry Liz) artist interviews at Lollapalooza for the iHeart Radio website. I've been feeling pretty fancy for the past 24 hours since the festival ended, but reality is gradually settling in. I figured before all the fairy dust wears off, I should hit you guys with a rundown of my 2 day experience. The euphoric juice of being a legit member of the media for 48 hours is draining fast, so I'm doing it rapid fire style.  Ready...set...go!

  • The ladies of Haim know way too many words to the Scatman song.
  • The Skaters don't actually skate.
  • Eric Church is a firm believer in the "hair of the dog" method.
  • Kendrick Lamar digs audio-only interviews.
  • My questions are good enough to evoke good responses from musicians.
  • Shaun White is in a band called Bad Things, and he cut all his hair off...not on some "cool" shit, but on some "donate my hair to charity" shit.
  • Family of  the Year really is the family of the year.
  • Mumford & Sons is a pretty solid soundtrack for walking around downtown Chicago at dusk.
  • Turning down free beer isn't as hard as I thought.
  • Jake Bugg doesn't like boy bands.
  • Alex Clare doesn't look how you'd think, but was hands down the best and coolest interview of the weekend.
  • "Producers" don't like the "media" using their bathrooms.
  • Ezra Koenig of VampireWeekend likes The Skaters' hats.
  • Tegan & Sara are just so darn cute!
  • Kennedy is a hilarious and professional interviewer, and I may or may not have developed a crush
  • The MJ story is legit.
  • Wild Belle are a part of that small minority of society that can actually pull off all-white suits.
  • Major Lazer gets a little cranky when they are tired (this was by far the most awkward moment of the weekend)....

...oh, and one more thing...
  • You're welcome.
