The A.D.D. Report: Volume 1

J. Powell, you nice but I'm here to make your audience not wanna read another noun or verb from you. That's a Kendrick Lamar joke for those who didn't get it.

I'm River. You may remember me from such blogs as the ONLY ONE I have on this site. I can't even remember the name of it because its been so long.

Every writer has that way of writing which is unique to them. I will be known for my A.D.D. style and randomness. This blog will cover a little bit of everything. So without any further ado...

I wanna start with the freshest thing on my mind which is the WWE SummerSlam PPV from last nite. I thought the whole card was nice, but at first I didn't understand why Rob Van Dam wasn't wrestling for the World Heavyweight Championship and why Christian was. Then I got it. Van Dam brings a lot of attention and WWE wants their PPV pre-show to draw in viewers. This also saves him a loss. He instead challenged for the United States Championship, in which he won the match by disqualification. Christian, on the other hand, lost in his title match. The match of the night was Brock Lesnar vs CM Punk. The best match I've seen all year to be honest.

The main event, Daniel Bryan vs John Cena for the WWE Championship, was great as well. Bryan is so over right now, I didn't think he would get a clean win, let alone walk away with the title. WWE never strikes when they should for some reason. Take Ryback and Dolph Ziggler for example. Both characters have have taking a hit because WWE didn't give them the belt or let them keep the belt long enough to solidify their superiority. Cena did well in this match given his limited wrestling ability. People knock him for this, but Cena to me is our generation's Hulk Hogan. Hogan didn't have a lot of moves nor was he flashy. He preached about taking your vitamins and saying your prayers. People call Cena a goody-two-shoes, but nothing like Hogan was. I was a kid at the time and I might have been one of the few not eating it up. I wanted to throw up every time he did a promo. I'm indifferent about Cena, even though I was a fan of his old Cena persona in which he was on a "thug life" trip, rapping promos that ended in a profanity word that he would pause on and let the audience finish.

I really just digressed. Back to the Cena-Bryan match. The ref was HHH, and usually when a championship has a special guest referee it means someone is gonna get screwed over. This was no different. Randy Orton, who could cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase for a title shot at anytime, had been making his presence known for weeks leading into this match. The writing has been on the wall. WWE sometimes makes an angle ending very predictable. Orton has been letting it known he will strike at SummerSlam if he sees fit. When Bryan beat Cena, he just didn't look right holding the belt. HHH attacked Bryan which helped Orton cash-in his title shot and win the belt. Orton quickly looked like that belt design was meant solely for him. It all just seemed so natural. So good job WWE, and Raw should do great ratings tonight.

On to baseball. Dear MLB, just let everybody take drugs. Your sport would be amazing to watch again because it's so boring now. The player who excite the masses, you really can't prove if it's their God given ability to put numbers on the board, or a man-made given ability through various drugs. In my opinion, PEDs in baseball are, to quote the great Will Ferrell in Blades of Glory and his brief interlude in Jay-Z & Kanye's N*ggas in Paris, "provocative, they get the people going!"

Kendrick Lamar has the whole rap game feeling some type of way after taking friendly shots at his competition on Big Sean's leaked single Control. Personally, I'm tired of all these response songs that don't matter. Lil' Wayne is dropping his Dedication 5 mixtape very soon and if he goes in on a response to Kendrick, then I can die a happy man. Until then...what was I saying again?
